Water level measurement using sensor module

Hi,
I would like to measure ater level in water tank. I have contacted some suppliers of Submersible Pressure Transmitter. They told me that it should work if sensor module can provide power between 2.7 and 5.5 Volts to the sensor and then read between 0.5 and 4.5V as an input then it will work. The sensor output is ratiometric to the supply voltage so if I provide 5V dc then it will give 0.5 to 4.5V output, if I provide 3V dc supply to it then the output will be 0.3 to 2.7V. I also have found this: Füllstandsanzeige sensor/eingang typ level sensor/wasserstand sender 4 20mA 0 5 V/10 v RS485 draht länge 5m|level transmitter|water level transmitterlevel sensor - AliExpress there is more versions. Is the best option for sensor module version 4-20mA?

It looks that both of them should work. I am not so familiar with electronics, so I would like to confirm if should work, because these sensors are not so cheap…

Thanks for any advice

Hello Milan,
the 3 wire ratiometric variant seems as the easiest integration. You can power it over Sensor Module with 3V, enable power only when you measure, and measure ADC voltage 0-3V.

Sensors 4-20mA needs higher power supply voltage and needs a voltage divider and input protection, because in some case you can get full voltage on the ADC input which can be more than 3V and destroy ADC/pin.
